Ms. Makespary has undergone academic training in Clinical Psychology (Master), Psychology and Mass
Communications (Degree), Counselling (Diploma) from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and
Applied Psychology and Counselling courses (Certificate) from Singapore. She is a registered clinical
psychologist (CP1-0021 (L) with the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology and a registered counsellor (KB00080) with the Malaysian Counselors Board (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia). In addition, she is a certified substance abuse therapist (Csat).
Her career in the helping profession starts with chemical dependents (male and female drug-dependents
and alcoholics) in Malaysia. Drawing on a combination of both work experience and academic training,
she then worked in hospital settings in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as a clinical psychologist.
She has worked with tertiary institutions (University of Cyberjaya and PERDANA University in Kuala
Lumpur, AIMST University in Kedah, and Quest International University Perak) as a program coordinator,
lecturer and a student counsellor.
To highlight the key features of her work experience and background, she has over twenty years of
experience working with children, teenagers and adults in both Malaysia and Singapore. As a trained
clinical psychologist at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM), she provided mental healthcare
to manage crisis or issues affecting personal well-being.
At the Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur and at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore, she
worked with clients on a broad range of psychological issues, from depression to anxiety, phobias,
schizophrenia, esteem issues, substance abuse, parenting and/or learning issues. This involves managing
self-development skills, relationship issues, working with self-identity and self-esteem, stress and anger,
adjusting and coping with day to day environmental demand through theoretical approaches (CBT,
psychodynamic and client-centred) which are eclectic-based.

Currently she is only able to take on online clients.
